An automated sales funnel is a series of emails that nurture leads over time, ultimately leading to a conversion. The goal is to deliver content that addresses the pain points of your target audience, and help them make a decision to buy.
These types of automated marketing campaigns can be complex, but they require less time to prepare than traditional marketing funnels. They’re great for service industries, online stores and e-commerce, and the sale of information products (webinars).
A mid-sized design agency had plenty of website traffic, but struggled to turn it into sales. They implemented a customized automated sales funnel and saw their lead conversions increase dramatically.
The first step of a marketing funnel is to understand your customer journey. Investing time in understanding their wants, needs and pain points will help you create the right message to capture their attention and drive them toward conversion.
Next, you need to determine if you have product-market fit. This involves assessing market size, competition and profitability. Once you have a good understanding of your market, it’s time to get creative. The final stage of your marketing funnel should be a call to action, where the user is invited to take a specific action that will bring them closer to converting. This could be signing up for a free trial, booking an appointment, or making a purchase.
A key part of automated marketing is setting clear goals and monitoring them regularly. This will help you identify weak links in your funnel and improve the effectiveness of each step.
One of the biggest challenges with sales funnels is that every element is reliant on all other elements. This makes it tough to find the weak link, and even if you do, it’s often difficult to change only one thing without changing everything else. This is why many experts end up re-doing their entire funnel, instead of just improving one part.
Once you’ve gotten your audience to the final stage of the funnel, it’s important to reinforce their trust in your brand. This can be done by using testimonials, side-by- side comparisons, and demonstration videos. These videos will show your customers how your product can solve their problems, and give them the confidence to move forward with a purchase.
